This exploration undertaking was truly an exercise in strength and persistence, more so since unanticipated situations dictated my personal having to assist four diverse supervisors by four diverse points of period during the research. I are grateful for the supervisor who also guided myself to the complete line (viva): Associate Teacher Dr . Anna Christina Abdullah and to the supervisor who oversaw the corrections, Dr Hashimah Mohamad Yunus. I have to also appreciate my initial supervisor, Mentor Dr . Molly Lee whom guided me personally up to the pitch defence, and my second supervisor, Relate Professor Doctor Loo Seng Piew who also worked with me throughout the data collection and data evaluation stages. For his or her collective endurance and scholarship in helping me throughout this arduous journey, I would like to record my deepest gratitude. I would like to thank employees of the Hamzah Sendut Selection I and II, Universiti Sains Malaysia for their assistance in accessing the supplies for the study. I as well acknowledge the help of the friendly staff at the Sarawak State Library in Kuching, and staff in the libraries of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Universiti Utara Malaysia. I actually am happy to the Open public Service Department and the Ministry of Education for allowing me a two and a half 12 months full-paid analyze leave to enable me to pursue this kind of study on a full-time basis after a basic, gruelling part-time study. I would like to extend my own grateful thank you and appreciation to the ex - Director of Education Sarawak, Datu Dr . Haji Adi Badiozaman Tuah, for his assistance and encouragement during my pursuit of this kind of doctoral examine. Many thanks also go to Doctor Sluhi Lamat (now a college principal), Abang Adam Abang Deli and officers in the Registration, Addition and Private Education Section, Department of Education, Sarawak for the assistance they will rendered me especially in executing the " archivalвЂќ job and in helping to arrange for the fieldwork while using participating schools. This thesis would not have experienced the light of day without the assistance and cooperation of countless informants and respondents inside the private degree industry. I want to say thanks to the CEOs of all the 4 colleges (the gatekeepers) that took component in the research, anonymously called City College, Metro University, Central School and City College, along with their management who willingly shared facts, stories and sights regarding exclusive higher education on the whole, and their organization in particular. All their willingness to permit me to study their establishment and consequently to become my own informants and respondents exceeded my greatest expectation. My fieldwork was all the more successful and pleasant mostly because of their willingness to accommodate me like a researcher. Thanks a lot all, people! Finally, We extend my deepest admiration to my children members: First, my past due father, Lindong Anak Lanchang, who remaining this world before I could complete this thesis; and my personal mother, Andih Anak Igu. Thank you the two for sending me to school and for ensuring I stayed at and advanced in the early years. I would like also to thank my personal brothers and sisters for moral support. To my spouse, Jacqueline, My spouse and i am happy for your like, support and understanding; to look at care of the kids when I was away in Penang; and, for proofreading the draft chapters on this thesis. For the " primersвЂќ of warring, Elsa Cordelia Durie and Amanda Karenina Gupie вЂ“ whose presence constantly attracts a party in my cardiovascular вЂ“ nice being loyal and obedient to daddy and mummy.
